The “Town Meeting” is the culminating event for our Voices and Choices: Constitution Today civics curriculum. Students have been studying contemporary constitutional issues and are preparing to give presentations on their findings, compete for a finalist position, and chance to appear before a panel of experts and their peers. This is an annual event that allows Teaching Matters to demonstrate the impact its programs have on students. Past panel members and keynote speakers have included former NYC Mayor Dinkins, Schools Chancellors, City Council Representatives, Social Reform Advocates, Business Leaders, Religious Scholars and Police/Military Experts.
